Big Brother Australia: Fans in Shock as Abiola Mysteriously Vanishes From the House
Big Brother Australia viewers were left scrambling for answers after popular housemate Abiola Oreyomi suddenly disappeared from the show — and no official explanation has been given yet.
As the season heads into its final week before the December 8 finale on Network 10, Abiola had become a standout figure in the competition. The outspoken, charismatic housemate — known for proudly describing herself as a “fat, Black lesbian” — was the last remaining queer contestant following Mia’s eviction last weekend.
This year’s format includes a 24/7 livestream from inside the house. But on Friday, fans noticed something odd: the broadcast abruptly switched for several hours to static shots of the fish tank and laundry room, with all sound removed.
While these cutaways aren’t unusual, viewers quickly realised something was different this time. When the livestream returned to the bedroom, one of the beds had vanished.
Shortly after, clips circulated on social media of Emily and Alannah quietly discussing the empty space and the disappearance of Abiola’s beloved beanbag.
“Abs is gone… Abs adored that Clark Rubber beanbag, and now both are gone,” Emily whispered — right before the audio on the stream was muted again.
Abiola’s puzzling exit comes only days after she faced nomination alongside Holly, Vinnie, Bruce, and Connor. However, she escaped eviction when Alannah used her Head of House power to save her.
Network promos have since teased a dramatic “walkout,” hinting that the truth behind Abiola’s absence will be revealed in Sunday’s episode. A Big Brother spokesperson also assured viewers that all of their questions will soon be answered.
“Big Brother’s favourite appliances — the washing machine and the dryer — certainly got a lot of screen time today,” the spokesperson joked. “Fans are in a frenzy trying to figure out what happened. Rumours are flying that someone has chosen to leave… but why? A secret deal? A meltdown? Something completely unexpected?”
“As always, the golden rule of the Big Brother house is simple: expect the unexpected.”
Viewers will have to tune in at 7 pm on Sunday to discover exactly what happened to Abiola — and whether she left voluntarily or if something bigger is at play.
