‘Walkout’: Why has Abiola left the Big Brother house?

Queer housemate Abiola Oreyomi has left the Big Brother Australia house, but we don’t know why – yet.

It’s the final week of the new season of Big Brother, before the finale on Network 10 on Monday week (December 8).

Fan favourite Abiola – a self-described “fat, blak lesbian” – was the last queer housemate standing after Mia’s eviction last weekend.

This season, 10 is live-streaming the housemates inside the Big Brother house. On Friday, fans noticed that the stream spent a few hours cut away from the housemates to focus on the fish tank and laundry room, with no audio.

That’s not unusual, with cutaways to the fish tank or the laundry used to cover edits to housemates’ conversations.

But after the cut, eagled-eyed live-stream viewers noticed one of the housemates’ beds had been removed from the bedroom.

Fans also shared they’d heard a conversation between Emily and Alanna about the missing bed and the absence of Abiola’s favourite beanbag.

“Abs is gone… Abs loved her Clark Rubber beanbag and now Abs is gone,” Emily said.

After that conversation, the pair were muted on the live-stream.

Friday’s drama in the house comes after Abiola was originally nominated this week alongside Holly, Vinnie, Bruce, and Connor. But Alanna saved Abiola from nomination using her Head of Housemates power.

Now promos for the show are teasing a “walkout” and a Big Brother spokesperson has promised fans will have “all their questions answered” during Sunday’s episode, including what’s happened to Abiola.

“Looks like Big Brother’s two favourite housemates (Washing Machine and Dryer) got some extra love on the livestream today,” the spokesperson said.

“Fans are whipping into a frenzy about what secret action could have taken place in the house.

“To add to the excitement, word is out that someone has chosen to leave, sparking wild speculation – was it a spin cycle spin out, a secret pact, or something else entirely?

“Doesn’t everyone know that in Big Brother’s house, the first rule is to expect the unexpected?

“Tune into 10 at 7pm Sunday night to have all your questions answered.”
